Because of the rise of river levels, where wastewaters flow into it, there is often a problem of two-way flows or standstills. All traditional measuring methods fail in these situations. With Krohne Tidalflux meter we can measure level, speed and direction of the flow, so we can accurately measure the quantity of the water that passed.
When measuring the wastewaters meteor waters are included. When the precipitations are plentiful the meteor waters can become very clear and therefore measurements that are based on contained particles are made impossible (Doppler effect).
Differences in temperature between water and air produce fog. Fog can contain high level of humidity that can have a negative effect on ultrasonic measurements of the level, which are the basis of open-canal measurements.
