The water that is supplied by public companies (or private sources) can never be cleaner then the polluted environment we are living in. We can recycle the water with preliminary filtration or ultra-filtration, ion exchange and reverse osmosis, depending on economical justification and ecological reasons.
Projects
for preparation and purification of the water are based on up-to-date concepts
implementing the latest technological findings. They are energetically optimal,
reliable and user friendly. All
processes are monitored at the central control of the factory or on the Ethernet (omrežje), so all
important information can be reached from anywhere.
For better
understanding of water purifying process, we present the next example:
An example of complete water preparation for use in production of starch and syrups – 2007
The source
of raw water is drinking water from the system and water from wells.
In the
incoming raw water forbidden components are present and we eliminate them in
several stages of water preparation.
- classical
filtration - anthracite filters for removing impurities,
- deferisation,
demanganisation, elimination of arsenic,
-
countercurrent softening for
intermediate needs of production with final UV disinfection,
-
ultrafiltration,
- reverse
osmosis.
In the
intermediate stage the product is soft water and in the final stage demi water
with 10 μS/cm conductivity. It is used for production and for making steam in
low pressure steam boilers. For reducing conductivity under 0,1 μS/cm
a membrane
degasser and electrodeionisation is built in. This water is used for steam
turbines in electrical energy production.
The ultrafiltration device is cyclically washed with chemical additives - acid, lixivium + disinfectant, so batch neutralization of waste waters is built in.
In continuation you will find the description of the block diagram which represents technological process and capacities.
Technological/technical
data:
permeator with conductivity under
0,1 μS/cm - 50 m3/h
permeator with conductivity under
10,0 μS/cm - 25 m3/h
softened
water with total hardness under 0,5 odH - 40 m3/h
electrical
power of the first stage equal to 170 kW
Approximate
utilization rate of the devices - quantity of waste waters:
sand
filtration: under 90%
catalyst -
filter: under 99%
softening
device - countercurrent on raw water: under 97.5%
ultrafiltration:
under 96%
reverse
osmosis under 75%
EDI
electrodeionisation: under 97%
Media
consumption:
- Natrium
Chloride - in tablets 153 kg/reg
Other
chemicals are periodical in disinfection, cleaning Uf and RO membranes, pH
correction. They are minimal and do not influence the operating cost of the
plant significantly.
The process
is monitored and operated centrally, therefore there is no need for a
constantly present operator.
Equipment
and materials we use for this technology:
GFK-
polyester pressure vessels for filters
- PVC pipe
installations, AISI 316 stainless steel for reverse osmosis, pre-filters, etc.
- stainless
valves with pneumatic drive
- magnetic
induction flowmeter
- continuous
measurements of pressure, conductivity, pH, Rx, turbidity, etc.
- the pumps
are stainless, with frequency control
- membrane modules on UF are polysulfonic with
permeability of 0,02 μm
- intermediate
reservoirs - polypropylene
